Primary Program!!

Two Sundays ago our sweetest sunbeams performed in the ward Primary Program :)
We were so proud of our lil kids after weeks of practicing their lines and primary songs.
A couple of the songs that they were show cased on were Follow The Prophet, Beautiful Savior, and the newest song I Know That My Savior Loves Me. (I love that song, I want to cry every time they sing it).
Dave and I have been so touched as we have gotten to know these precious boys. I feel like each Sunday morning these are Dave and My boys that we get to have for a couple hours. I love them so much.

From Left to Right- Daniel said his line Loud and Proud from the pulpit and then came back and fell asleep on my lap the whole rest of the time. Isaac is the second counselors son and memorizes lines like he should be up there with his dad each week. Girl is Aidens cousin visiting. Aiden is the sweetest lil soul who is brilliant when it comes to volcanoes (also falls asleep on me most weeks). Preston is Daves cousins kid so he really is one of us :) He refused to participate in any practices what so ever but in the moment of truth he really pulled through! And last theres Henry, poor guy couldnt make it to the program but he practiced SO well, along with Isaac, he knew every word to every part. (Do you love the big shiner his bro gave him with a bat... He didnt mind tho, his catch phrase is now "I'm one tough kid!!").

This is the day of the Program. We spend some time outside afterward to relax. Daniel left to go sleep on his mama :)

After church Dave and I took a walk to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. This is our tree that has stayed that vibrant for several weeks!

I really did have a good time walkin for several miles, despite how it looks

Daves showin me his game face proving to me its not a big deal... I eventually believed him ;)

Well thats it for now!! We miss all our family and friends back home, but we'll be seein ya'll soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Night Doughnuts

So since Daves been in school for Two whole months now :) ... A nice sounding weekend for us is one staying in, and making home made doughnuts.

This is my sous chef really gettin stuff done here...

mmm, gotta love those mini bites!!

Dave accidentally burned himself on the oil :( poor guy. Good thing he got treats to make up for it!

A display of our efforts. Logan Lees Notice the Dulce in the corner we added to the mix :) it was delightful!

Pregnant Jean. Shes so cute and great

Every so often we'll hang out up stairs with the fam and this is, with out fail, what will happen... I'm so glad for football, hours of football... and golf ...

Well thats really the gist of what goes on here now a days haha not much but I cant fully express my gratitude for a loving husband who, no matter what, makes me an obvious priority in his life. That, more than anything is what gets us through the more difficult phases of our transition. I sure love Saturday nights :)

Weekend with Senator Bennett

Ok so Daves office had a retreat with their Utah office which really meant that the DC office got to show the Utah office around places of touristic value while still getting work done on the side, and enjoy a couple activities along the way. Spouses were invited to most everything so I got to take some pics... ok just so you know, the rest of this was actually written by Dave trying to sound like me which is comic relief in itself. hope you think it's as funny as I do, lemme know if you think he's accurate.............

Before these events, Dave got to go to the National Archives and see some really cool stuff. Besides the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, Dave saw copies of letters Church leaders sent to the government from Nauvoo and Utah. George Washington's first inaugural address, Thomas Jefferson's public statement on the Louisiana Purchase, and Abraham Lincoln's commission of Ulysses S. Grant. I wasn't there so no pictures were taken. Dave is very sorry!!!

Lunch with the entire staff in the Members room of the Library Congress. It was so fun to meet all of the people that Dave works with!!! This was all part of a staff retreat with all the people from the Utah offices and the D.C. staff.

Dave and his office-mate Matt.

Another beautiful part of the Library of Congress

Another amazing part of the Jefferson Building. Supposedly one of the most beautiful buildings in the entire city!! I got a private tour with Davey's office.

This link takes you to the shoes I bought the day before these events that I foolishly thought I could get away with wearing with ease... that is so not the case. Before we even made it to the luncheon my heels were screaming at me and I had much much more to endure... but they sure are cute :)

Now the Capitol on a tour with Senator Bennett. This is the Senate receiving room at the entrance to the Senate Floor. We got really lucky because the Senate was out of session during the tour and we got to go on the floor of the Senate and into all the cool areas that are usually reserved for only senators.

The pictures in this room are of important senators who had a large impact on the development of the Senate. Calhoun, Clay, Webster and others were picked by John F. Kennedy to be the portraits of the room.

Senator Bennett telling everyone about the Old Senate Chamber. They still use this room sometimes for votes and hearings on classified information because they can do the meetings without cameras and the media.

Dave trying to ignore me...HEY, pay attention to me!!!
This picture is in Statuary Hall which used to be the Hall of the House of Representatives. Right over Dave's shoulder is one of Utah's Statues, Brother Brigham.

Getting some good luck by rubbing Will Rogers shoes. I can already feel it!! Will Rogers is the only statue in the Capitol who was put there while the person was still living. He is right out side the new House chamber and is supposedly keeping his eye on proceedings there.

The staff got a cake to thank the senator for all his great work! The cake had one of his famous phrases "I'm off to save the Republic" We are both so glad that Dave got to be part of this amazing office.

The Lees and the Bennetts. They are so great and sure love Dave!! He is very grateful for the opportunity he's had to work in the office and participate in this great place!

Hangin out at the house watchin football

Or reading US magazine rather...

But Manny would watch football all weekend long if it meant she could sit on Daves lap for a while... perhaps that should be my attitude too??

I love primary parties!

And I love Dave

Jeana Lee

The last weekend in August Daves sister, Jeana, visited DC on a business trip which was lucky for us :) Uncle Ken took us all out to WildFire, which was amazing, and then we drove her around all night showing her the sights Dave and Becca style (which is not very impressive, sorry) and then the next night she came to the house and hung out for a bit between sessions. It was obviously so fun to see Jeana and chat it up with her all night :) The greatest thing for me personally is to see my Dave spending time with his siblings he loves so very much, its a very sweet thing.

Thank you uncle Ken for treating us all to an excellent evening, We love you and Patty so much!

Now for some random footage of Becca playing around with the camera waiting for Dave to get out of class...

On my way to pick up Dave

This Fancy shrine on Daves campus

self explanatory

"DAVE WHY WONT YOU STOP AND POSE?! CANT YOU SEE IM TRYING TO TAKE YOUR PICTURE?!? JUST STAND THERE... JUST STAND THERE, DAVE LISTEN TO ME!!!"

I know His law building looks a lil bit like Count Draculas Castle at night, but in person it really is a beautiful building haha

ok well, Ive finished commenting on everyone elses blogs, Ive put up a post of my own ... Ive checked my email and calorie counter ... ... ... Dave are you done studying yet??

The reason we're here

OK :) This is a really happy post for me because I get to show you actual footage of why we're here in DC and what it is like. Dave has started school this week and I will tell you its going to be an adjustment but you know, we both have been through harder things.
Im happy to post these pics because it reminds me the blessings Dave and I have been given. First and foremost , the fact that we get to be together through it all, share our endeavors with each other and witness the outcome of each experience together. I am so ready to support Dave in every way and let him lean on me for whatever he needs, and he is constantly proving his love and support whenever I need some encouragement... I could go on for pages about my appreciation for my man and what we've been blessed with, but this is not my journal haha so lets get back to the pics!!

Cute Dave showing off his back pack and cutting edge study desk... He has been indulging me with taking a bunch of pictures to record his big week

Dave's Befuddled face while holding up his work badge and his school ID... How he's gonna juggle both we will soon find out

And heres my salon! Victoria Station is a great great place to work, I'm so glad I picked the right one :)

Heres Jane, one of the owners and Sarah, one of the receptionists. Everyone here is so welcoming, I couldn't be luckier

Vikki, the other owner :)

This is my station and thats Brenda, my back to back station buddy

She is one of the most genuine people Ive ever met. And she reminds me of my sister Liz in almost every way haha Shout out!!

Daves Law school!!! It is a BEAUTIFUL campus. Last night his class had a lil orientation presentation/ reception so thats what these pics are..

This was dave really indulging me haha thanks babe, gotta document!!

Dont mind awkward lady in the back haha

But really haha I love you Dave and I am so very proud of you and your goals.

So I hope everyone enjoyed seeing the places we are spending all our time in, plus Daves full time job haha but it means a lot to me that the people close to us are a part of what we're up to... Love you all!!! Come visit!!!!
